Occasionally, a tenant will default and items stored need to be disposed of. When this occurs, the site manger will follow mandates governed by Wisconsin State Statutes in order to protect tenant's rights. Lien sales are posted both on the calendar (below) and TWICE in the Appleton Post Crescent.
If you would like to receive e-mail notice of upcoming lien sales, please send us an e-mail with the words "lien sale list" in the subject. We will attempt to send you a timely notice of the sale(s). Area Storage is a great place to store your belongings, whether you need to store a few extra items or have the contents of an entire house. • 15 minutes before the sale, the door will be opened for inspection. Buyers may visually confirm the contents as (generally) described in the postings.
• We will pick a unit to be sold first. We reserve the right to establish a minimum bid on any unit.
• If you choose to bid on the unit, you will receive from us a slip of paper. You write your name and bid on the paper and hand it to us. The highest bid wins. We do not disclose the bid amounts to anyone.
• The unit must be completely emptied and broom clean, no later than the end of the day following the sale.
If you need more time, you may sign a standard lease for a period of time agreed by us. Usually it will be to the end of the current month.
